Comet impacts with Earth are a very serious matter. Consider Noah's Great Flood or the Atlantis catastrophe. There may be a few things that people may be concerned about should there be a major Earth impact by a comet fragment. For example:

• There will be the accompanying blast and overpressure wave that will set off earthquakes around the Earth.
• Tsunamis will likely occur should major comet fragments hit the oceans. These tsunamis may race hundreds miles inland in the Gulf and Atlantic coastal States.
• Then dust that result from these impacts (or the direct airbursts of bolloids themselves) will be injected into the air causing a new Ice Age. NASA is modeling just that sort of comet (or comet fragment) that will cause world wide affects. Food production around the world will decline causing mass starvation.
• If the cosmic bodies are large enough, they may cause a temporary collapse or realignment of the Earth's magnetic field. This, in turn, will let solar particles impact germs at the lower habitable latitudes bringing about new diseases. Our current COVID-19 event is good practice for this scenario.
