Mysterious object lands in UK garden after loud thump in middle of night -
09 Feb 2017
This mysterious rock like object is causing quite a stir in Lowercroft.
Now the couple in whose garden it was found are hoping someone may be able to
shed some light on what it is — and where it came from.
Pauline and Norman Pollard were baffled to discover the striking black and
yellow material in their garden, just days after hearing a loud noise.
Initially the couple thought it may be a meteorite - and don't know whether the
noise is related to the find.
Mr Pollard, who lives in Lowercroft Road, aged 74, said: "We found it in the
garden after we had heard a loud bang or thump in the middle of the night, it
was like a car door banging."
The couple have gone online to find out more about the unusual piece, which is
made up of a dull black material which has a little shine, yellow and a grey
concrete type material but are still no clear to finding out what it is.

Eyewitnesses wanted: did you see bright green meteor fireball in Irkutsk,
Siberia? - 23 Mar 2017
"At 14:39 local time (11:39 GMT), while we were riding in a car along the bridge
across the Irkut River towards the Leninsky district, we spotted an unusual
glowing object in the daytime sky. It was speeding at a 45 degree angle, but its
light went out in just a couple of seconds. We very much hope that Irkutsk's
residents may have recorded this phenomenon using their car DVRs. We could
collect these recordings and hand them over to scientists," he stated.

"It's a lovely example of a meteor burning up high in the Earth's
atmosphere and the flashes you can see are where bits of it are breaking
off because it's moving very quickly through the atmosphere and burning
up.
"This is probably just a random piece of rock from space entering the
Earth's atmosphere and the folks watching the rugby game were lucky to
be in the right place at the right time."

Stargazers left baffled after 'red fireball' seen over Perth, Western
Australia - 25 Jun 2017
Stargazers Left Baffled By 'Red Mystery Fireball' That Lit Up The Night Over
Perth Australia - June 26, 2017
Perth Observatory’s tour administrator Matt Wood thinks it might have been a
space junk.
A 'red fireball' that lit up Australian skies has left locals baffled and
debating the mystery object.
Several Perth residents reported the sighting on Saturday saying the fireball
was seen streaking across the sky for five minutes.
One motorist driving on Karrinyup Road told 7 News Perth it was the craziest
thing he had seen in a long time and believed the strange object was heading
towards the ocean.
'Must have been a meteor... it went for approximately
five minutes,' the unnamed witness said.
Report a Fireball: it's fun and easy!
- Please, don't report sighting that lasted more than 30 seconds: the vast
majority of fireballs are only visible for few seconds.
- Please, don't report recurring events: seeing a fireball is extremely rare
and often a once in a lifetime event.
- Please, don't report slow blinking objects or lights crossing the sky going
by 2 or 3: a fireball looks like a big shooting star.
A fireball does not last 5 min., an earth grazing comet fragment does. Has
the first body of the B swarm just appeared?

Asteroids Are Flying Past Earth More Often Than Usual - February 2, 2017
Space rocks appear to be taking aim at Earth. The fourth asteroid this year
buzzed the Earth about midday Thursday, passing between the Earth and moon.
It wasn’t quite as close as the one in September that missed us by just 24,000
miles, nearly as close as some geosynchronous satellites, or Sunday’s visitor,
which passed within
32,200 miles. The latter, which was just 19 feet wide, wasn’t spotted until a
few hours before it flew past.

Asteroid attack? Yet another asteroid to give Earth a close shave - 01 Feb

Asteroid attack? Astronomers ponder fourth close pass of 2017 - February 1,
2017
Yet another space rock is set to give Earth a close shave. We ask a professional
sky watcher if we should be freaking out just yet.
It is between 36 and 82 feet wide so not very large but it was only discovered
on January 30th.
The astronomers say there is no correlation between them so they are not from a
larger asteroid that broke up so they say these clusters
are just purely coincidental.
Last August September there were 4 close passes of newly discovered asteroids
also.

DEFINITELY A NEAR EARTH ASTEROID LAST NIGHT (15 June 2017)
I have received secondary confirmation from another witness, who saw it approach
from the Western horizon. This person said that as it approached it had a halo,
I will go into a little more detail - I figured it was going between 65, 000 and
80, 000 mph and was between 100 and 150 miles up. It stayed visible for a total
time (Western horizon to disappearance behind the earth's shadow) of about 1
minute and 20 seconds. It was prominent enough to tell it had two mountains on
it, or a valley down the middle of it. It passed DIRECTLY over Leon Mexico at
9:30 PM central time. It disappeared when it was about 20 degrees above the
eastern horizon. . . . It's trajectory was almost exactly west to east.
Its appearance was unbelievably bright, but it did not hit the atmosphere. I'd
say it appeared to be well over 5 times as bright as the brightest Venus ever
gets. And if it was possible to tell it had either two
mountains or a valley down the middle of it, it was HUGE.
Other observers also clearly saw it as an asteroid. A lot of people saw it
because it was impossible to miss because it was extremely attention getting
bright.
