     More January 2016 dramatic sky events are surfacing as large objects continue to rain down upon earth with two more videos of probably many many more that we are not aware of. 2016 compared to past years is starting off with a significant increase in drama over major cities that people actually have a chance to video. There are probably 20x more that we aren't even aware of.

     "It was like daytime," said Chase Tantog, 21, who was fishing at Chun's Reef when he saw what he thought was a meteor falling from the sky. "It was just a big fireball coming down," he said. "There was debris, too, on the side, like coming off. Once it hit the water, it just blacked out and then you hear the thunder roar after. It was really loud."
     The obvious explanation is that the two helicopters were taken out by the shockwave from an overhead meteor fireball explosion, the force from which suddenly and catastrophically disabled the craft and scattered their debris over a wide area.

     Airplane pilot Mike Grossman, while flying 1500FT over the Hudson River, captures a very rare sight from a GoPro external wing camera of his Piper Archer descending into a New Jersey airport on January 30, 2016 at 6.16pm EST.
     A bright, very low flying fireball penetrated earth’s atmosphere just to the right of his airplane!
     Also, Alexander Salvador of Church Falls, Virginia recorded the luminous bolide at the exact same time 6:16pm EST from a few hundred miles away on the ground with his dash cam!
     This was a Major Event as hundreds of reports were sent in to both of the main meteor sighting hubs, LunarMeteoriteHunters and American Meteor Society.
     The fireball was witnessed in at least 12 different states and 2 countries!

     FIRE IN THE SKY NEWS: It appears Comet 252P/Linear is showering earth with space rocks after its historic close approach with planet earth a few days ago, coming closer to earth than any comet in 246 years. As expected, earth is seeing a spike in fireballs around the world, some so impressive, they turned night into day.      A meteor streaked across the St. Louis area on Friday at about 10:16pm. We received many reports from viewers about the shooting star. Sightings of the streak of greenish-blue light were reported in four states, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee.
     Two of our web cameras caught a great view of the meteor, Eckert's in Belleville, IL, and Mattress Direct in South St. Louis County . In the Belleville view, you'll see the green object streak across the screen followed by a spider walking across the camera lens.

The fireball was seen primarily from Illinois but witnesses from Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Kansas, Minnesota, Alabama, Iowa, Tennessee and Ontario (Canada) also reported the event.

     A Yeovil man has captured what he purports to be meteors falling from the sky near Stonehenge. Paul Eveleigh, who runs his own painting, decorating and gardening business, captured the footage just off the A303 near Salisbury Plain on Saturday (April 16).

     A bright fireball struck the sky over Puerto Rico on June 2, 2016 at around 9 pm.
     The slow meteor was visible from the entire island moving from Northeast to Southeast.
     The Caribbean Astronomical Society (SAC) noted that the remarkable meteor was reported from Juncos, Vega Alta and to Mayaguez, so across the entire island.

       SOTT.net last looked in detail at the frequency of meteor fireballs in 2013, using the data garnered by the American Meteor Society (AMS). SOTT.net pointed out the increasing frequency of fireballs1, and asked the question: "What does 2014 have in store?"
       Well, the results are in, and the answer is simple: comparing 2014 to 2013, the frequency of fireballs increased by 120%. Comparing 2015 to 2014, fireballs increased by 20%. That is a significant increase, and it should be generating a lot of attention. If it is, then it's being done very quietly behind closed doors.

       Why is NASA suddenly so concerned about meteors and asteroids hitting the Earth? After telling us that "no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years" last year, NASA is now spending millions of dollars to set up a "Planetary Defense Coordination Office" that will be headed up by a designated "Planetary Defense Officer". According to NASA, more than 13,500 near Earth objects have been found so far, and another 1,500 new NEOs are being discovered each year. Approximately 10 percent of all near Earth objects are one kilometer or larger in size, and if one of those giant space rocks ever hit us, it would likely be considered an "extinction level event". It makes sense that NASA would be concerned about this threat, but why now?
       The announcement of this new office was made on Friday, and very few mainstream news outlets covered it.

         CONSPIRACY theorists claim these images could show "friendly aliens" in the process of saving the planet from a destructive meteor strike.
         The shocking theory emerged after the release of footage of a fireball exploding in the skies above Maine, New England, USA
         Clips of the natural phenomena show what appears to be a second, smaller object entering the Earth's atmosphere during the event on Tuesday.
         The American Meteor Society (AMS) has since confirmed a second object was present, but says it was just a smaller fragment of the meteor as it broke up in our atmosphere.
         However, the seemingly satisfactory explanation, has done nothing to dampen speculation from die hard alien chasers looking for evidence of extra terrestrial visitations.
         The most popular theory is it was an alien craft dispatched to destroy the meteor to prevent an impact.

         An intriguing Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin today is strongly suggesting that the 19 May crash of EgyptAir Flight 804 over the Mediterranean Sea was due to its being struck by a debris fragment from a large meteorite that first encountered our Earth’s atmosphere on 17 May over North America, broke into numerous parts with one large piece falling on South American on 18 May, and left a debris field so large the Aerospace Defence Forces (ADF) issued a warning to all S-400 missile commands operating in Syria to be on the alert for "false positive readings"
         According to this report, on 17 May the Okno optoelectronic space surveillance complex in Tajikistan sent an alert warning to the ADF that it had “detected/discovered” a near Earth asteroid approaching the atmosphere over North America at a speed estimated to be around 67,000 kilometers-per-hour and having an estimated mass of 8,000-10,000 metric tonnes.
         After this meteorite [actually called a bolide in this report using the astronomy definition of this word] struck the atmosphere over North America, this report notes, it broke up into “many/numerous” pieces with some being ejected into a higher orbital "plane/trajectory" and the largest part falling back to Earth less than 24 hours later when, on 18 May, over the South American nation of Argentina, it exploded upon entering the atmosphere causing tremors to occur too.
         With tens-of-thousands (if not hundreds-of-thousands) of this meteorites fragments (estimated to be between 5-60 centimeters) still expected to fall into our Earth’s atmosphere between 18-20 May, this report says, both Okno and Kanopus satellite data determined that the “areas/regions” most likely to affected by this space debris lay between Greenland and Australia due to the original North-South orbit of this meteorite— with the center point being the Levant.
