Fireball over Southern Sweden and Eastern Denmark = 17 Jan 2009 or
Meteor lyste op over Syddanmark
A blinding blue green flash on the night's sky followed by an enormous bang.
Many people experienced such a phenomenon across much of Seeland, Lolland-
Falster, Fyen, the eastern Jutland and Bornholm on Saturday night, around 8.15pm
(local time).
Also parts of Southern and Western Sweden could see it, the site sydsvenskan.se
reports.
"The light was at the beginning constant, after which it flashed violently like
with lightning and then after a few seconds disappeared silently. I felt it was
a most unusual event we experienced tonight."
"The sound that followed was like a thunder bolt and up towards five minutes
between the light and the sound, which with the speed of sound would equate to
about 100km, between the light and us", reports Leif Wriedt Jørgensen.
"We are probably talking about a meteor", is the explanation from Operative
Kommando og Sydsjællands og Lolland- Falsters Politi. The duty officer from the
Danish weather bureau agrees with this assessment and rejects weather phenomena
such as lightning as being the cause of the intense light flash.

Mystical Meteor Lights Up Swedish Skies - 18 Jan 2009 or
Mystical meteor lights up Swedish skies
SOS Alarm and the Gothenburg air-rescue service were bombarded with telephone
calls from mystified observers across southern and western Sweden shortly after
8pm on Saturday evening.
Witnesses reported seeing a huge flash of light stream across the night sky.
The light shone for only a couple of seconds but was enough to excite observes
and prompt a raft of theories explaining the phenomenon.
Annika Vestergård said that one working theory is that the light was caused by a
bolid, a meteorite that burns up in the atmosphere.

Scandinavian Fireball Sightings - Jan. 17, 2009
On Jan. 17, 2009, at 1909 UT, a meteoroid of unknown size hit Earth's atmosphere
over Scandinavia and exploded with a thunderous, rumbling boom. The fireball was
so bright it turned the nighttime sky blue. People from Sweden, Denmark, the
Netherlands, Germany and possibly as far away as Spain witnessed the explosion.

More on the California Fireball - Jan 18
The fireball occurred on Sunday evening, January 18, at ~5:30 pm (give or take
20 minutes). Amazingly this was only ~15 minutes after sunset for people on the
coast so the sky was still very bright. The fireball must have been quite a
spectacle to be seen against such a bright sky.
Based on the reports submitted so far, it was seen from 4 states (California,
Nevada, Utah and Arizona). Here’s a map of the sightings reported so far.
Most people said it was a white/blue though a few observers noted it changed
into many colors. This is consistent with a meteor. The fireball ended its
passage through the atmosphere with a bang, something astronomers call a
“terminal burst”. This marks the final break-up, or explosion, of the small
asteroid that created the fireball. Many reports also mentioned that a smoky
trail was visible for several minutes after.
Turns out a second very bright fireball was seen over northern California later
the same night. At least 3-4 people reported a fireball in the San Francisco
area at 11:26 pm. The two fireballs are probably unrelated.
-
Another California Fireball January 19, 2009
I have received a few reports about a bright fireball seen across California.
Sightings have been sent in from San Francisco to San Diego. There is some
disagreement on the time with some people saying it occurred on January 18
around 5:40 pm PST and others saying it happened on January 19 around 4 am PST.
So perhaps we are talking about 2 unrelated but spectacular fireballs, the
evening one was seen over southern California while the morning one was a
northern CA object.
Neither of these fireballs are related to the one seen over northern Europe a
few days ago.

Update: Sweden's Weekend meteor 'very unusual' - 19 JANUARY
2009
The meteor that streaked across the sky on Saturday night is likely to have crashed into the waters off the
coast of Denmark, according to a leading astronomer.
Michael Linden-Vørnle, of the Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen, said all evidence points to a
landing site somewhere in the Baltic Sea south of the islands of Lolland and Falster.

Blue Fireball - Jan 20, 2009
I didn't think much of it until my mother, who had spent the day with us, called
and reported that on her drive home she saw something like a blue fireball with
a tail shoot across the eastern sky, moving from 11 o'clock to 4 o'clock. She
was on the 101 in La Conchita at the time. Haven't seen any local or national
news on the "event". Anyone know or hear anything about this?

Tarpon Springs, Florida I Saw A Bright Neon Blue Flash In The Sky - January 21, 2009
January 20th, 2009, I was riding with my wife in Tarpon Springs, Pinellas County, Florida. We were facing
west driving just east of US19. I saw a bright, almost neon blue flash in the sky, high above the clouds
which stretched from as far left as I could see to as far right as I could see.
There was sporadic cloud cover but the flash illuminated the sky for 3-5 seconds.

Meteorite hits Akhnoor - 1 Feb 2009 A09
Srinagar, Feb 1: A meteorite hit Akhnoor area in Jammu, Saturday night following
which many astronomical organizations rushed their teams to study the phenomenon
on the spot.
The meteorite, according to the locals, descended in the open ground at 11.25
pm. However, it didn’t cause any damage to life or property, owing to its
smaller size and low velocity, the locals added.
Many astronomical organizations including Indian Space Research Organization,
TATA Institute of Research and the Kashmir University dispatched their teams to
the area.
One of the experts, who was on the spot, told Greater Kashmir over phone, “The
meteorite was not that big in size otherwise it would have caused much damage
due to its impact. It can prove more dangerous if its velocity and size is
larger. It can cause serious damage and create a huge crater on earth.”
He said that facts would only come to fore after the research would be over.
“We are assessing the samples and the impact area. We would be able to come to
any conclusion after the research is over,” he added
- Eke, Belgium Two Red/Orange Fireballs - February 3,
2009
Full Description of Event/Sighting: Two red/orange fireballs without tail moving
from SSW to NNE. Very bright light, like a rounded candle flame that just got
lit. Moving with a continuous speed, horizontally in the night sky. At one time,
the second object seemed to stand still for a couple of seconds, moving a bit
from left to right and back. And then continued it's way afterwards to disappear
in the far sky.

Bright White Fireball Over Marseilles, Illinois USA - February 4, 2009
- Huge blast rocks homes - February 7th, 2009
HINTERLAND properties across Guanaba and Canungra have been rocked by a
mysterious explosion that has left police, fire crews and the Department of
Defence scratching their heads.
Residents have told The Bulletin of a violent shockwave that hit about 8.30pm on
Thursday, shattering windows and shaking houses. The pulse was so strong a
demountable building in Coomera Valley Drive shifted on the stumps it was
mounted on.
But police have been unable to find any source of an explosion, a seismology
expert has ruled out any earth tremor and the Defence Department is adamant
there were no explosions at the nearby Canungra army base or supersonic aircraft
over southeast Queensland on Thursday night.
Guanaba local John Tuminello said the force of the explosion was huge and he
could not believe his two-storey house 'actually vibrated'.

Chase, British Columbia: Bright Bluish Ball of Fire - February 9, 2009
A ball of fire shot across the sky in front of my as I was walking down Shuswap Avenue in Chase, B.C. I was walking from west to east and the ball crossed my path going from south to north.
It was beautiful. It was crossing through a blue break in the clouds and it was a bluish colour
in the centre and very bright. It disappeared over the mountains above Star (Aylmer) Lake.
I believe I saw the same daylight fireball February 9 near Vernon, BC. It was between 4:15 and
4:30 p.m. I was walking towards my house when I saw a bright white light in the sky to the north.
It seemed quite low to the ground and quite close to Vernon, and was heading on a downwards
trajectory of about 45 degrees. It was too large and too bright to be a plane, so I assumed it
had to be a meteor. It never diminished in brightness during the time I was able to see it, and
I actually saw a trail of what looked like smoke behind it. There was also a reddish light that
could have been flame. Eventually it got low enough in the sky that the other houses in the
neighbourhood blocked my view, and I have no idea whether it continued flaming or made impact
anywhere. I haven't heard of anyone else in Vernon so far who observed it.

Kentucky Fireball: - Feb. 13, 2009
On Friday, Feb. 13th, around 10:00 to 10:15 pm EST, people in central Kentucky heard loud booms, felt
their houses shake, and some saw a fireball streaking through the sky. The nature of this event is still
under investigation. Possibilities include a small asteroid or a piece of space junk entering Earth's
atmosphere. National Weather Service reports that the fireball was debris from the Feb. 10th collision of
Iridium 33 and Kosmos 2251 satellites may be premature.

Mystery fireball baffles witnesses in Texas - February 16, 2009 B09
Max Lyon described the fireball as a glowing egg-shape with an orange centre, a
blueish outer aura and a silvery-white tail.
"The tail was intact for several seconds, then became segmented," said Mr Lyon.
"I conclude that the single object became several objects during incineration
aftermath - a white tail remained visible for up to 10 minutes."
Matthew Donelon of Georgetown said he saw a very bright orangey-purple object
dart across the northern sky.
"The object left a smoke trail for a distance and then went out," said Mr
Donelon. "The smoke trail lasted for more than 15 minutes before it dispersed.
There was no sound, so I estimate it was some distance away."

FAA says Texas fireball was meteor, not a UFO - Feb 16, 2009
The fireball that streaked across the sky and alarmed numerous Texas residents
was likely just a big meteor and not wreckage from colliding satellites, experts
said Monday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig said the fireball seen
across a wide stretch of the state Sunday morning probably was a natural
phenomenon and not debris from last week's collision between an Iridium

'Bright flash of light in sky' reports continue - February 19, 2009
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - FEB. 19, 2009 - A brilliant flash lit up the sky three
times here last evening, according to witnesses, then it happened again four
hours later.
the first lights were around 11, they seemed to fill up the whole sky
completely, but it was eerie, because it was not just the sky but also around
the house. My computer dimmed, and the clock turned off. Those first few began
as a pink color, and then shifted to a greener color. The light did not seem to
be beaming down, but rather horizontally. Another interesting thing, was that it
was very centralized to our street. I have 3 witnesses, from about a half mile
away saying they saw the light, but in the distance rather then surrounding
them. Then, at 4 in the morning, the lights happened again, and this time for a
bit of a longer time, and turning again the pinkish color, then changing to a
green. I misspoke about the moving light, i only meant that it seemed to be
coming off from some place further up the street. It seemed a bit brighter in
this direction.

Argentina: Another Fireball Over Patagonia - 02.20.09
The strange “fireball” that crossed the skies over the Cordillera in Chubut
between the towns of Esquel and El Bolsón is being investigated to see if it was
an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) or a meteorite that entered the atmosphere
and burned up before striking the ground.
The episode took place at midnight last Saturday – although it only became known
today – and was seen by at least a dozen people driving along the road that
links El Bolsón with Esquel.
Those who witnessed the phenomenon claimed that the dark night was almost
entirely illuminated for a few seconds, leaving eyewitnesses “flabbergasted”
“On Saturday, between 23:00 and midnight, personnel on duty saw a fireball-type
light,” said Ramon Lotero, second commander of the 36ths Squadron of the
National Gendarmes.

Fireball lights up sky and causes jaws to drop - Feb 20, 2009
Some people reported seeing a green fireball. Others said it was orange and
"scary."
They didn't know what they were looking at about 9 p.m. Feb. 9.
It was a show-stopper for Gregory McCartney, who runs an evening outdoor
astronomy education and entertainment program at Ko Olina.
The NASA Solar System ambassador and board member for the University of Hawaii
Friends of the Institute for Astronomy Council had about 18 people at a star
show that night.

“Fireball” sighting maybe a meteorite - Feb. 20
Island residents are being urged by Maria Mitchell Association director of
astronomy Vladimir Strelnitski to keep their eyes open for meteorites around
Surfside and the south shore in the coming days following an unconfirmed
sighting of a fireball blazing across the early-morning sky Friday, Feb. 20 at
4:30 a.m.
Terry Galschneider was up early watching television when she said a dramatic
orange fireball “lit up the sky” for five seconds. She said the fireball was too
large and bright to have been a shooting star or a helicopter. Her full
description to Strelnitski left him to “not exclude that it fell in the ocean,
but maybe even on land.”
The object’s brightness suggests it would be relatively close to Galschneider,
although its lack of sound made that even less possible to tell for certain. He
said it was highly unlikely to have been debris from colliding satellites.
- Comet's Heart May Have Struck Earth - 23 February 2009
A fireball as bright as the full moon raced across the Spanish skies on July 11,
2008, and was tracked by the Spanish Fireball Network (SPMN). Researchers used
the tracking data to trace the path of the comet backwards through the sky and
space; they think the boulder may be a chunk of a comet that broke up nearly 90
years ago. Their conclusions are detailed in the Feb. 11 online issue of the
journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

- Meteorite Lands in Southern Savo - 05 Mar 2009 C09
A fist-sized meteorite plummeted to Earth somewhere in southern Savo. At least
three cameras captured the bright streak of the space-rock making its fiery
descent over the weekend.
"The meteorite has probably fallen along the border between Kangasniemi and
Hankasalmi," says Arto Oksanen, from the astronomy organisation Jyväskylän
Sirius.
The landing site got quite a bit of snow over the weekend, which makes finding
and retrieving the meteorite quite difficult.
The rock shot into Earth's atmosphere at 15.4 metres per second, but it slowed
down as it approached the ground.

Dodged the bullet again - or rather, dodged the asteroid. It really is time for
the advanced nations to organize an anti-asteroid defense
The asteroid - named 2009 DD45 - passed Earth early Monday 48,800 miles above
Tahiti. It measured between 69 feet and 154 feet across, about as big as the one
that crashed near Tunguska, Siberia, in 1908 and leveled 830 square miles of
forest. That’s a 32-mile wide circle.
But larger objects can reach the ground. The Planetary Society, which is beating
the drums for an asteroid defense, estimates that a “Tunguska Event” could cause
at least some human casualties roughly every 300 years. A troubling scenario

Westchester 'Boom' Believed To Be Meteor - Mar 10, 2009
The mysterious boom that may have rattled Westchester count just might have been a meteor. Dozens of people reported hearing the noise Saturday, and now a meteorite expert says he thinks it was a falling space rock, and he's offering big bucks to anyone who finds solid evidence.
People in a half-dozen southern Westchester communities reported hearing the boom. About
the same time, a woman in Mount Kisco reported seeing a yellow light streaking across the
southern sky.

ASTEROID FLYBY:
Newly-discovered asteroid 2009 FH is flying past Earth today, March 18th, only
85,000 km (0.00057 AU) away. That's a little more than twice the altitude of a
geosynchronous communications satellite. There is no danger of a collision with
the 20-meter-wide space rock--just a close shave. Experienced amateur
astronomers can track 2009 FH using this ephemeris. It is shining about as
brightly as a 14th magnitude star.

Meteors Fireballs & Explosions Over SouthEast - 30 March 2009
Looks like we have another exciting event! Fireballs from the sky, meteors,
explosions! Sonic booms and fireball sightings have been reported all over the
SouthEast from Maryland to Virgina and last week Georgia had it’s own big boom
too. Over Augusta Georgia at around 3 a.m. on the 20th a fireball was sighted
followed by a tremendous boom heard all over the Augusta Aiken area which had
the whole town speculating on the event.
Unlike in Georgia though, the event last night in Virginia and Maryland has
everyone looking to the skies for answers. What could it have been? A meteor
most likely, and there might even be meteorites on the ground. Reports are
numerous and the investigation is on for more information about this exciting
event.

But only one person has said he saw where it landed.
Joe Butler of Suffolk says he was driving south across the Chesapeake Bay
Bridge-Tunnel when night turned briefly into day.

US: Latest reports include fireball over Montana; metallic disc in Colorado
- 07 Apr 2009
Plevna, Montana - 4/6/2009 - A fireball was observed streaking at a steep angle
towards the earth, approximately two miles south of Plevna. The object appeared
to be a brilliant fireball, with a streak of fire trailing behind it. The
object was observed for one-to-two minutes, dimmed in intensity, growing
brighter, then dim again before disappearing over the horizon. What is unusual
about this sighting is what happened next. The object suddenly reappeared, and
shot back up into the sky, following the same path as when it had descended.
Witnesses reported that the object was traveling at a high rate of speed in both
directions.

shot off fireworks it was small at first then it was getting a longer and longer
shape and the color was changing to a yellow color and it was also getting
wider. The tail was white and getting longer then the front turned white. Then
it got red and really big exploded and disappered quickly.

Meteor creates fiery spectacle over Wise County - April 17th, 2009
Most likely a meteor plummeting to earth in a blaze of glory, the fireball streaked
down on an easterly arc roughly above U.S. Route 58 down toward what appeared to be
a destination in the Tacoma area, at least from the perspective of White Oak Road
atop the Tacoma Mountain Road ridgeline, looking south.

the fireball was at a very low altitude, which may mean if there could be pieces
of meteorite on the ground.

“It came into view at the top left of my windshield coming down at about a 45
degree angle. It was bright white with a tail behind it. It was about a fist to
1 ½ fists above the horizon and to the right of my windshield when it flashed
out very suddenly,”

Weird! I saw this flash last night. Lit up the whole sky! I had no idea what it
was.

Flagstaff Fireball: Impact? - May 2nd UPDATE: D09
The reports generally suggest that this fireball was heading almost straight
down. Those witnesses closer to the event location report that the fireball
seemed to be heading “almost straight down”. Some of those further away (100
miles or more) stated seeing the fireball appearing to have an almost 80 degree
angle of decent. There are one or two reports stating a 45 to 60 degree
inclination, but I would say 95% of the reports say 85 degree angle of decent on
average. This suggests that if the meteoroid did survive entry it will be a very
small meteorite strewnfield, making it much harder to locate.

Fireball 6th May 2008, at 11.17pm.
I live in the midlands near Wolverhampton - I'd just taken the dog out and said
"It's the first clear night and able to see stars clearly... a white thin streak
appeared from the NNE and continued for what seamed like 2 seconds at about 80
degrees above the eastern horizon to travel to about 40 degrees above the horizon
in the south. It then had grown in size and brightness. Then with the light intensity
grown to very bright, it seamed to break up and disappear in an instant!
We are just past the peak of the eta aquariad meteor shower so it was quite likely to be one of them.

Meteor strike may have caused peat bog fire near Carlisle - 16 May 2009
It has now emerged that some residents living near the bog reported seeing a
white-hot meteor streaking through the night sky. The theory is that it may
have triggered fire shortly after striking the ground on Sunday night. He said:
“My wife Claire is a GP in Penrith, and a colleague of hers who was passing
nearby saw the meteorite or something flashing through the sky in the general
vicinity of the Solway mosses. “I believe this man is a reliable witness, so
it’s entirely feasible this happened.” The meteor theory is thought to carry
weight as the weather at the time of the fire was not particularly hot, and the
area is not known for attracting vandals who might want to start fires,
particularly late at night.

Meteor hit Earth's atmosphere over Poland - Light brighter than a full moon - May 31, 2009
On May 31st, evening sky watchers in northern Poland were temporarily blinded by a sudden flash of
light brighter than the full Moon. An automated camera in the town of Gniewowo captured this snapshot
of the "un-night" sky:
What happened? A meteoroid of unknown origin hit Earth's atmosphere and exploded. "It was a huge
fireball, probably brighter than magnitude -13," reports Gniewowo resident Przemyslaw Zoladek.
"The explosion occured at 20:48 UT and was observed by many casual witnesses and at least two Polish
Fireball Network video stations." No one knows if fragments of the object reached the ground.

Object that fell from sky was a meteorite - 3 Jun 2009 E09
Prof Verma ruled out the possibility of the stone being an asteroid as reported
in some newspapers and emphatically remarked that the initial study of the piece
of the rock done on Wednesday confirms that it's a meteorite. Usually such
pieces of rock (debris) come from asteroid belt only but sometimes they may very
well be a part of other celestial bodies
also.
Prof Verma was referring to the incident of May 28, when a 1 kg stone
resembling a meteorite fell down from the sky about 12 noon and left the people
of the Karimatti hamlet in Hamirpur district amazed and puzzled. The stone which
is ten inches in length and five inches in width was put in water to bring down
its high temperature. Eyewitness to the entire incident, Mannu Lal, a villager
was the first to observe this heavenly body. In no time, the news of the
incident had spread like a wild fire in the entire village. The matter was then
referred to the administration, which took the stone in its possession.

Did a meteor bring down Air France 447? - June 4th, 2009
Could a meteor have brought down Air France 447? Today we are starting to see
reports that there actually may have been a meteor:
- However, both pilots of an Air Comet flight from Lima to Lisbon sent a
written report on the bright flash they said they saw to Air France, Airbus and
the Spanish civil aviation authority, the airline told CNN.
- “Suddenly, we saw in the distance a strong and intense flash of white light,
which followed a descending and vertical trajectory and which broke up in six
seconds,” the captain wrote.
Obviously for any given flight the chances are very, very small that a meteor
will bring down an airliner, but as Hailey and Helfand pointed out in a letter
to the NYT in 1996, the correct question to ask is this: “What is the
probability that, for all flights in history, one or more could have been downed
by a meteor?” They concluded that there was a 1-in-10 chance that this could
happen…let’s use their logic, brought up to date somewhat, for 2009, for Flight
447.

he saw similar “attack” on the verandah and roof of many neighbours.

GERMANY: Meteor hits boy on way to school - 11 Jun 09 G09
A pebble-sized meteorite crashed and burned into Earth, grazing 14-year-old
Gerritt Blank while on his way to catch the school bus.
“At first, I only saw a big, white ball of light. Then, my hand hurt, and then
it slammed into the street,” he told daily Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung.
“After I saw the white light, I felt something on my hand.”
The result was a 10-centimetre burn on the back of his left hand, but Blank knew
something special had happened to him.
“I thought the meteor struck me, but it could also be a result from the heat as
it went by me,” he said.
After the intial shock, Blank looked at the glowing rock the left a sizable
crater in Brakeler Wald Street. He then took the iced tea from his school lunch
and doused his glowing pebble and took it to school with him.

Fireball as unidentified flying object crashes into mountain - June 19, 2009
(from David)
AN air and ground search of the area where a bright flash and explosion was
witnessed early this morning has failed to find an obvious cause.
A spokesman for the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter said a crew had not been able
to identify what caused the fire.
“They’ve conducted ground searches as well as an aerial search,” he said.
“There is a fire up there but it could have been caused by a space junk or
meteor strike, or even a lightning strike,” said the spokesman.
The spectacle was initially treated as a possible plane crash but is now
believed to be a meteor or space junk falling to earth.

Quite high up and moving at exactly the same speed the pairs were about 2 mins

without deviation, possible explanation could be something to do with the MOD

Meteor lights up the sky - Jun 25, 2009
Loud boom heard, bright streak seen across the region late Tuesday (Jun 23,
2009)
SIERRA VISTA — A number of southeastern Arizona residents reported seeing a
bright meteor in the night sky Tuesday, followed by a loud explosion-like sound
as it fell to Earth.
At his home off of Highway 191, about seven miles south of Interstate 10, Wayne
Crane said he saw the shooting star just as it lit up the sky shortly before
9:30 p.m.
“I was facing probably southwest, and I just happened to look up, and I saw a
glowing object,” Crane said. The object appeared very bright and very large,
“like a moon against the sky.”
“It was only there for about a second and a half before it was gone. Almost, in
fact, before I had realized what I had seen,” Crane said.

Woman Sees Very Bright Fast Moving Light in Night Sky - June 27, 2009
I saw a round light, that was bright and was pretty up high. It was bigger in
size compared to the brightest star I could see at the same time. It was going
from south to north with a constant speed and quite fast. It was faster than an
airplane would fly. Airplanes fly over the area I live in and I watch them
often. I know that what I saw was not an airplane.
Note: A check of satellite positions revealed that no bright satellites were
visible. The witness seems to be familiar with aircraft movements and is
convinced that she did not see an airplane. I don't have an explanation, but the
linear, constant movement suggests that an explanation could probably be made if
more data were available or if the object were sighted in the daytime when
visibility is better.

What are they hiding? Flight 447 and Tunguska Type Events - 12 Jun 2009
It seems reasonable to suggest that an aircraft would not produce a bright and
intense white light for six seconds as it fell from the sky. The many dozens of
meteorite and fireball sightings over the past few years however are often seen
as bright white flashes of descending light.
The Tunguska meteorite probably was visible as it exploded and broke up,
appearing as a bright white light descending in the sky. Six to ten miles up is
within the height range of commercial aircraft. And AF flight 447 was indeed
located in a remote ocean area. So if, as we suspect, the blast from a Tunguska-
like comet - though a significantly smaller one than that which exploded over
Tunguska - destroyed AF447, it would have produced something similar to an
Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) which explains the complete failure of the air
craft's electronic systems. It is also likely that modern satellite monitoring
systems would have picked up such an event. Indeed, Brigadier General S. Pete
Worden's article NEOS, Planetary Defense and Government - A View From the
Pentagon confirms this likelihood:
I can show people evidence of real strikes inflicting local and regional damage
less than a century ago. Even more compelling are the frequent kiloton-level
detonations our early warning satellites see in the earth's atmosphere.
Within the United States space community there is a growing concern over "space
situational awareness." We are beginning to understand that it is essential to
identify and track virtually everything in earth orbit. Some of these objects,
down to a few centimeters in size, present a potential threat to commercial and
civil space operations such as the International Space Station.
But then, for some unknown reason, and very coincidentally, this happened:
MILITARY HUSH-UP: INCOMING SPACE ROCKS
NOW CLASSIFIED - 10 June 2009
If a high-altitude cometary explosion did indeed destroy AF 447, then the
decision by the US military (and government), just a few days later, to impose a
black out on all information about earth-bound space rocks is extremely
worrying. It suggests that members of the US government know that a cometary
explosion destroyed the Air France flight and that they suspect that more such
events, perhaps over populated areas, are likely in the near future.

NEOS, PLANETARY DEFENSE AND GOVERNMENT - A VIEW FROM THE PENTAGON - 7
February 2000
I will assume that most readers share in the view that NEOs have and
will continue to play a central role in the evolution of life on this
planet. I'll also assume that we more or less agree that we face a
continuing threat from these objects. Most analyses focus on the big
threats--objects which can threaten life globally and have the
potential to destroy or seriously damage our species. I for one believe
we should pay more attention to the "Tunguska-class" objects--100 meter
or so objects which can strike up to several times per century with the
destructiveness of a nuclear weapon.

UPDATE ON WEB BOT PREDICTIONS FOR THE FUTURE - September 24, 2008
The next year will get very ugly and will change your life worse than 9/11. It
is important to understand the magnitude of the data. The sort of agony, grief,
pain and rage that was felt the six days following 9/11 will be felt for five
and a half months.
- From October 7th, 2008 until March of next year….
- September 22nd - 27th - The Plateau of building tension.
- On October 6th, 11:59 pm, the planet is going to go through a “period of
release” following the traumatic event. The information will spread very quickly
due to technology.
- * December 10th-12th, 2008 - China sized earthquake in Pacific NW.
- * Will there be a total economic collapse?
- Yes. 2009 will be a “year of transformation.” The keyword “monumental” shows
up as how the future will view our current situation. Time Monks describe this
as an “epic situation”
- Have a plan in place to be as independent of the institutions of society as
you can possibly get. Prepare for a situation in which you will have no water,
food, electricity or heat. Have clothing for all seasons and EXTRA MEDICINE.
- Try not to panic, we have a couple of weeks. You can not store enough to get
you by indefinitely. A situation my arise in which you may need to move or be
relocated.
- Is there something worse looming?
- “The situation is complex, not a single trigger. 45-58% economic, 40%
military, the rest is terra activity.”
- Really big numbers popped up that are quite worrying. Somewhere between 2
to 22 million lives will be drastically effected by the event.
- It is possible that a manufactured terror event will lead to terrible
things. Possibility of martial law or military reaction to terror event, real or
manufactured.
- * In 2009 there will be a global coastal event.
- This does not necessarily mean a tsunami.
- “We know the Chinese are into this.”: Similar language grabbing program with
much larger chunks. Time Monks tracked these techniques back to a Chinese super
computing center.
- * 2009: Disappearance language gets more specific. Big changes. Some of the
“powers that be” will disappear. “Powers that be” will be out and about with
large groups of people with them and they will all disappear.
- * A lot of alien activity way off in the future.
- * Indications in language involving e.t.s (possible result of
disinformation):
- o Alien wars are coming.
- o These alien events may or may not be real but people are acting as if they
are real.
- * Religion - Religious component. Religion will change in December between
12th to the 15th. Evangelicals will have an “un-burdening”, Evangelicals will
feel some sort of “shame”.
- * Big revolution coming against the “powers that be”

10/7/08 WEB BOT UPDATE: Overview of Jeff Rense Interview with Cliff & George,
“Time Monks” of Half Past Human
Projections for 2009-2010
- Different but epic.
- Keeps going that way for years.
- Over the next couple of years the magnitude of the change will leave people
frozen and unable to cope.
- People will become mentally ill. This will be augmented by poor diet and bad
weather. The stressors surrounding people will be horrific.
- If these predictions are correct, there will not be a pharmaceutical
industry, work force, etc.
- This could be a staggering shift.
- Next year, the level of caring about money will be a fraction of what it is
today (unclear whether this is about just America or whole world). The dollar
will lose its status as the global reserve currency.
- People will be more concerned about food and water.
- The powers that be want us to be willing slaves afraid to depart from their
nurturing. The universe seems to favor a different outcome.
- The powers that be know time is running out, and are desperate to complete
their plans.

As if Things Weren't Bad Enough, Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S. -
DECEMBER 29, 2008
In Moscow, Igor Panarin's Forecasts Are All the Rage
There's a 55-45% chance right now that disintegration will occur," he says. "One
could rejoice in that process," he adds, poker-faced. "But if we're talking
reasonably, it's not the best scenario -- for Russia." Though Russia would
become more powerful on the global stage, he says, its economy would suffer
because it currently depends heavily on the dollar and on trade with the U.S.
Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral
degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar.
Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into
six pieces -- with Alaska reverting to Russian control.
When the going gets tough, he says, wealthier states will withhold funds from
the federal government and effectively secede from the union. Social unrest up
to and including a civil war will follow. The U.S. will then split along ethnic
lines, and foreign powers will move in.
California will form the nucleus of what he calls "The Californian Republic,"
and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of
"The Texas Republic," a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under
Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an "Atlantic
America" that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern
states Prof. Panarin calls "The Central North American Republic." Hawaii, he
suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed
into Russia.
At first, this seems ridiculous, but if there is a major impact in the
Atlantic taking out much of the eastern seaboard, it could lead to the breakup
of the USA.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York
City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and
Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing
fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.
There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—
including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a
recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath.
